A not so welcoming surprise found in certain Velveeta Microwaveable Cups

Kraft Foods Global, Inc. voluntarily recalled three particular types of Velveeta Shells & Cheese Microwaveable Cups on September 30, 2011 for potentially containing small, thin wire bristle pieces. The single serve cups have been recalled as a precautionary measure are identified by their specific “best when used by” dates found on the bottom of the packaging.

It is estimated that 137,000 recalled products have been distributed across the United States, but there have been no reports of consumer injury or complaints thus far.

Kraft Foods recommends to consumers that the recalled Velveeta Shells & Cheese Single Serve Microwaveable Cups (identified below) are not to be consumed. Instead, it is recommended that the purchaser returns the product to the store where it was purchased for an exchange or refund, or contact Kraft Foods Consumer Relations.
