Recalled Asko Cylinda dishwashers pose fire hazard

Unspecified “electrical component” overheats and can cause fire

On June 14, 2007, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalled 130,000 dishwashers produced by Asko Cylinda because of the washer’s faulty electrical system. An unspecified “electrical component” in the washer overheats and poses a fire hazard to consumers.

The Swedish company has reported 21 dishwasher fires. The recalled dishwashers include the following models:

  • DW95-1355
  • DW95-1375
  • DW95-1358
  • DW95-1475
  • DW95-1485
  • DW95-1555
  • DW95-1585
  • DW95-1595
  • DW95-1655
  • DW95-1805
  • DW95-1885
  • DW95-1895

The model number, serial number, and manufacture date are printed on the right interior side of the dishwasher door.

Consumers should stop using their washers and contact Asko immediately for remedies.
