2 types of fireworks recalled

Less than a month before July 4, CPSC cracking down

06/21/07

On June 19, 2007, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission released two separate recalls involving fireworks imported from China. Jake’s Fireworks Inc., recalled about 4,000 of its “March or Die Mine” fireworks, while Far East Imports recalled about 13,600 of its “300 Shot Saturn Missiles” battery fireworks.

Tubes on the ”March or Die Mine” shell firework devices can become loose, making the devices unstable during use. If the device tips over during use, it can pose a burn hazard to bystanders. The products were sold by World Class Distributors nationwide from April 2006 until May 2006.

The ”Saturn Missiles” can travel in unexpected and dangerous directions, posing eye and other injury hazards to bystanders. The products were sold at Boomer Distributors nationwide from April 2006 until July 2006.

The CPSC is instructing consumers to not use the products and to contact the distributors for a replacement product. Jake’s Fireworks phone number is 620- 231-2264. Far East Imports’ phone number is 1-800-766-1277.
