3,300 Cummins power generators recalled
Company says fuel shut-off valve fails to close, resulting in gas leak

On June 19, 2007, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of Cummins Power Generation Inc.’s stationary natural gas and propane fueled generators. The company has received reports of the generator’s fuel shut-off valve failing to close, which results in a gas leak, posing a risk of fire and burn.
The recalled generators are both commercial and residential models. The recalled Cummins Power generators have the following model numbers:
Commercial Models:
- GGDB
- GGMA/B/C
- GNAA/B/C
Residential Models:
- RS15000
- RS20000
- RS30000
The affected units have a serial number A050734102 through L068998479.
Recalled generators were sold at Cummins Power Generation’s authorized distributors nationwide and at Costco’s online Web site from January 2005 through 2007. The units retailed between $8,000 and $25,000.
