On July 18, 2007, Magura USA announced a recall of about 200 190 Radial Brake Master Cylinders used on off-road motorcycles. The cylinders can crack and cause brake failure, increasing the risk of personal injury in a motorcycle accident.
The recalled brake cylinders have an “A” or “B” code engraved on the underside of the brake lever’s pilot bolt. A Magura logo is also printed on the cylinder.
Magura brake cylinders were sold nationwide by motorcycle dealers, mail-order catalogues, and online retailers from August 2005 through May 2007 for about $420.
Customers are advised to immediately stop using any off-road motorcycle that has the recalled brake cylinders and contact Magura for a replacement.
For more information, consumers may contact Magura USA at 800-448-3876, visit the company’s website, or email the company.
