Triumph Child Seat Recalled Due to Choking Hazard

720,000 car seats involved in recall

On September 27, 2007, Evenflo Company, Inc. recalled certain Triumph Child Restraint Systems due to a product defect that could create a choking hazard for children occupying the seats.

In affected models, there are six mechanical attachments used to hold down the cloth cover. Children can pull back the cloth cover near their thighs and access the foam liner. The foam liner can be broken off and can create a potential choking hazard.

Approximately 720,000 Triumph Child Restraint Systems are affected by the recall. Recalled child safety seats were manufactured before November 1, 2005 and include the following model numbers:

  • 2641208,
  • 2641226,
  • 2641247,
  • 2641281,
  • 3591205,
  • 3591208,
  • 3591226,
  • 3591247,
  • 3591288,
  • 3591328,
  • 3591331,
  • 3591361,
  • 3591404,
  • 3591404,
  • 3591548,
  • 3591453,
  • 3591581, and
  • 3891609.

A written notification will be sent to registered owners of the affected Triumph units. Evenflo will begin offering a free kit to cover the foam liner beginning early in October 2007.
