Kraft Foods recalls baking squares due to possible Salmonella contamination

On October 3, 2007, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced a recall of select Kraft Foods Baker’s Premium White Chocolate Baking Squares because the recalled Kraft products may be contaminated with Salmonella. Salmonella is a bacterium that causes foodborne illnesses.
The recalled baking squares are all 6 ounces and have a UPC code of 004300252200. Additionally, the recalled Kraft Foods baking squares have one of the following “best when used by” dates:
- 31 MAR 2008 XCZ
- 01 APR 2008 XCZ
- 02 APR 2008 XCZ
- 03 APR 2008 XCZ
Consumers are warned not to use the recalled baking products. Instead, Kraft asks consumers to throw them away. Consumers may contact Kraft at 1-800-310-3704 to request reimbursement for the purchased product.
