Recalled glow sticks fail to warn consumers about hazards

On October 17, 2007, Dunkin’ Donuts LLC recalled about 1 million pink and orange glow sticks given away free of charge to consumers who purchased donuts. The recalled glow sticks’ labels do not properly warn consumers that the cap and lanyard on the sticks can detach, posing a choking hazard. In addition, the lanyard can pose a strangulation hazard for young children.
Dunkin’ Donuts gave away the recalled glow sticks from September 2007 through October 2007. Consumers should take the glow sticks away from young children and return them to a Dunkin’ Donuts store for a free donut.
