Honda Motor Co. recalls Acura TL cars due to malfunctioning windshield wiper/washer motor

The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) announced a recall by Honda Motor Co. for 2004 and 2005 Acura TL cars. A malfunction in the windshield wiper/washer motor was found that could potentially lead to a catastrophic injury from a car accident.
Approximately 129,600 2004 and 2005 Acura TL cars were recalled because of a possible failure of the windshield wiper motor due to the entering of water in the motor house, which can lead to corrosion. If the circuit breaker fails as a result, a non-working windshield wiper/washer motor increases the chance of a serious car accident during inclement weather.
The ODI recommends that consumers take their 2004 and 2005 Acura TL vehicles to a local dealer, where the windshield wiper motor can be inspected and repaired, if necessary. Acura owners can contact Honda Motor Co. for more information at 1-800-382-2238.
