On March 3, 2008, manufacturer Munire Furniture Inc. recalled over 24,000 of its Majestic Curved Top, Majestic Flat Top, Essex, Brighton/Sussex, and Captiva Cribs. The recalled cribs were shown to pose a fall hazard and fail to meet the federal safety standard.

The recalled Munire Furniture Cribs have four support brackets on the mattress support spring that are too long. These brackets stop the mattress spring from lowering properly which allows children to crawl over, creating a fall hazard. The recalled $400 to $600 Munire Furniture Cribs are dated between November 2005 to November 2007 and include:

• Majestic Curved Top cribs with model number 9500
• Majestic Flat Top cribs with model number 9000
• Essex cribs with model number 7100
• Brighton/Sussex cribs with model number 9100
• Captiva cribs with model number 5100

Crib model numbers and dates can be found on the white label on the bottom of the headboard. Cribs with green stickers are not included in the fall hazard recall.

Consumers are advised to stop using the recalled Munire Furniture cribs immediately and contact them at (866) 586-9639 or on the web at www.munirefurniture.com.
