Backyard Leisure recalls play sets after three reports of child injuries
Hangers holding chains for gliders can break, posing fall hazard

On June 10, 2008, Backyard Leisure LLC recalled about 11,000 Adventure Play Sets and Create N Adventure Wooden Play Sets because hangers holding the chains for the glider can break, posing a fall hazard to children.
The company received 114 reports of glider hangers breaking, including three reports of minor injuries to children, including abrasions and a minor head injury.
Included in the recall are swing sets made of wood that feature various types of gliders, slides and swings:
- Pathfinder Swing Set, Model number 65008,
- Conqueror Swing Set, Model number 65208,
- Cedar Ridge Wooden Swing Set, Model number 30008, and
- Windsor Wooden Swing Set, Model number 30108.
The words, “Adventure Play Set,” or “Create N Adventure,” and “Pittsburg, KS 66762” is printed on a plaque located on the middle of the sets’ upper beam. Name and model number are printed on the instructions included with the recalled play set.
Wal-Mart Stores nationwide, as well as Wal-Mart.com, and Toys “R” Us stores nationwide sold the recalled Adventure Play Sets and Create N Adventure Wooden Play Sets from January 2008 through May 2008 for between $400 and $1,500. Consumers who own a recalled Backyard Leisure playset are advised to immediately remove the gliders from the swing sets and contact Backyard Leisure at 866-546-7902 for a replacement with instructions.
