Rosiglitazone Maleate and Glimepiride

Manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline, Avandaryl is a combination of two diabetes medicines that help control blood sugar levels. Avandaryl is intended for patients who have type 2 diabetes and who do not use daily insulin injections.

In August 2007, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced it was placing a black box warning on a class of diabetes drugs that includes Avandaryl. A black box warning is the agency’s strictest warning.
