Medical Description
Left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), may also been known as ejection fraction, is the fraction of blood pumped out of the left ventricle with each heart beat. The left ventricle forces oxygen-rich blood into your arteries, which carry it throughout your body.
Symptoms
- Burning in the neck
- Lack of oxygen in chest and shoulder
- Heart pain
General Information
An Left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) of 50% indicates that the left ventricle ejects half its volume each time it contracts. A normal ejection fraction is 50% or higher.
