On October 11, 2007, the Consumer Healthcare Products Association said Johnson & Johnson, Wyeth, and other infant cough and cold manufacturers are recalling certain medicines because of the danger of overdose. The recall comes two months after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warned parents not to give cough and cold medicines to children younger than two years of age without a doctor’s direction.
