Nissan Intelligent Keys
Nissan I-Keys
Nissan’s Intelligent Key, also called I-Key*, contains sensors that send signals to the car within 8 feet. Once the car receives signals, car owners can press a button on the door handle to lock and unlock their cars without removing the key from their pockets.
As long as the I-Key is inside of the car, owners can turn the ignition switch with just their hands and the car will start - they do not need to put the I-Key into the ignition.
In May 2007, Nissan found that if owners touch the I-Key with cell phones, the I-Key codes can be erased.
