Zithromax
azithromycin
Zithromax, known generically as azithromycin, is an antibiotic used to treat a variety of skin, respiratory and sexually transmitted diseases.
Aside from the potential of a serious allergic reaction, Zithromax may cause:
- diarrhea that is watery or bloody
- chest pain, uneven heartbeats
- nausea, stomach pain, low fever, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes).
Medical experts caution consumers not to combine Zithromax with over-the-counter health products because the combination may cause serious health problems. These OTC products might include certain vitamins, minerals, herbal products and drugs prescribed by a doctor.
