Medical Description

Mesothelioma is cancer of the tissue that lines your lungs, stomach, heart and other organs (called mesothelium). This is a rare but serious type of cancer, and most people who develop it have worked on jobs where they inhale asbestos particles. It could take 30 to 50 years of being around asbestos to get the disease. Treatment includes surgery, radiation and/or chemotherapy.

General Information

In November 2007, the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO), an organization comprised of asbestos victims and their families, found a variety of consumer products and popular toys contaminated by asbestos, which could lead to mesothelioma.
