CellCept
On September 10, 2007, Aspreva Pharmaceuticals and Roche announced their decision not to seek regulatory approval for their lupus nephritis therapy drug CellCept. The companies said preliminary results from a clinical trial of the drug were released in June 2007, and showed the drug did not meet its primary objective.
On October 29, 2007, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said Roche Holding’s drug CellCept is associated with an increased risk for miscarriages and birth defects.
