Acomplia
Zimulti, rimonabant
Acomplia is European diet drug that blocks brain receptors that make people feel hunger. Known generically as “rimonabant,” Sanofi-Aventis wanted to market the drug in the United States as “Zimulti.”
In June 2007, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration presented data that linked the drug to psychological problems like suicidality, depression and anxiety.
