Rimonabant is the generic name for the European diet drug Acomplia. The drug’s maker, Sanofi-Aventis, wanted to market the drug in the United States as Zimulti.

In June 2007, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration presented data that linked the drug to psychological problems like suicidality, depression and anxiety.
