On December 4, 2007, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued final user recommendations for Vail products. The Toledo, Ohio based company previously announced on June 16, 2005, that it would permanently stop the manufacturing, selling, and distributing of all Vail enclosed bed systems due to a health risk of entrapment and suffocation in patients who use them.
