Ibuprofen
Ibuprofen is used to relieve pain, tenderness, swelling and stiffness caused by arthritis. It is also used to relieve mild to moderate pain like menstrual pain, headaches, muscle aches and the common cold.
Common side effects include nausea, dyspepsia, gastrointestinal ulceration/bleeding, raised liver enzymes, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, unexplained rash, salt and fluid retention, and hypertension. A very rare side effect is Stevens-Johnson Syndrome.
Ibuprofen is sometimes marketed under brand names like Advil and Motrin.
